Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arranging, where flowers, plants and other materials are used to create a three dimensional composition, a living work of art. Amira Matsuda, Director of Sogetsu Ikebana Dallas Branch, past president of Ikebana International Dallas Chapter and Ikebana Instructor since 2000, will show you how human hands express beauty through the careful observation and placement of the floral materials. Create your own piece through the art of Ikebana floral design. Supplies provided.

Space is limited; reservations required, call 214-979-6438.

The Mystical Arts of Tibet at the Crow Collection of Asian Art Sunday, April 15–Sunday, April 22

Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery return to the Crow Collection for a week-long artist residency to construct a magnificent Tantric Buddhist mandala sand painting. During the week, millions of grains of crushed marble are painstakingly laid into place in this ancient spiritual art form to generate energies for global healing. Visitors are welcome to witness this remarkable process each day of the residency.
